ASUU chairman opens up on his sack by LASU



The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Lagos State University (LASU) chapter, Isaac Oyewunmi, has denied the corruption affirmation levelled against him by the authorities of the school.

The Governing Council of the institution sacked Oyewunmi nearby his deputy, Adebowale Adeyemi, for different affirmed fraudulent exercises on Friday.

He was blamed for requesting N50,000 from 2003 modular year students of Political Science Education, who were ready to process their results while Adeyemi-Suenu was accused of "unilaterally changing the status of students prior asked to withdraw from the university from "withdraw" to 'good standing."

Responding to the occurrence, Oyewunmi faulted his predicament on "political moves."

"Every one of the allegations is false. I am not guilty although at this present time I have been asked to step aside while the union (ASUU) manages it. The secretary is in the best position to respond," he revealed to Premium Times.

"I would prefer not to state much yet we as we all comprehend what is going on in our varsity, all they are stating is politically motivated. when the time is right, we would know, we have a dominant structure in ASUU, and the union has asked me not chat on this issue, so I won't excoriate the union's position.

The secretary of LASU-ASUU branch, Anthony Dansu, said the decision came as a stun.

"We are exceptionally stunned by the action. It came to every one of us as a stun, but the union is over the entire circumstance. At the fitting time, the union will act," he said.
