20-year-old lady arrested for kidnapping 7-year-old girl



The Ogun State police command has captured a 20-year-old lady, Ajoke Owolabi, for professedly kidnapping a seven-year-old young girl, Racheal Olorunshola.

The command representative, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that the Suspect seised the girl while coming back from school and kept her in custody for 19 months in Oshodi area of Lagos.

Oyeyemi discovered that "the young lady got away a month ago after a Good Samaritan took her to her parents."

"Barely any weeks after her arrival, the girl, while playing in front of her parents' home in Igbore Area of Abeokuta saw her abductor going by and immediately raised the alarm.

"The young girl identified Owolabi as her abductor, and she was quickly captured by the police however she denied ever knowing the girl.

"Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to kidnapping the girl after her name was found composed prominently on her body.

"The young lady immediately mentioned her name as Aunty Ajoke and when she was searched her name was seen apparently written on her body. It was then she admitted to the crime.

"She likewise admitted that she took the victim to Oshodi in Lagos where she was kept for 19 months.

"Owolabi said she came to attend a gathering in Abeokuta and kept the young lady in a room in Lagos from where she evaded, including that she passes through the young girl's parents' home obscure to her that the girl was there on that certain day when she was Arrested," Oyeyemi included.
