13 UNILAG‎ students sent to Kirikiri prison


A Special Offenses Mobile Court in Oshodi, Lagos, on Saturday remanded 13 Students of the University of Lagos in Kirikiri Prisons waiting for their bail application.
The police summoned the Students on a two-count charge of unlawful attack and disturbance of Activities

The blamed, standing trial before Chief Magistrate P.E Nwaka, are charged to have occupied with an unlawful intrusion of TVC Television in Lagos.
They all pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
The judge, who requested that the denounced be remanded, adjourned the case till April 6, for an assurance of their bail.

The blamed are Femi Adeyeye, Toni Aina, Kodri Yaya, Asimi Oladime, Ismahim Olalekan, Segun Okesola, Abdulazeez offence, Idris Abogunloko, and Muyiwa Olaniyi.
Others are Toheed Oladimeji, Joseph Akanni, Lukumon Olusegun, and Abiodun Agbeniyi.
The Police indicting counsel, CSP Effiong Asuquo, Officer in Charge of Legal Unit, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, had told the court that the denounced carried out the offense on March 31.

He said that the accused engage with a crazy attack for TVC Television station, dissenting a claimed rustication of a student.
As indicated by him, the students likewise attacked the main campus of the University of Lagos, Akoka, and disrupted ongoing exercises in the institution.
The prosecutor told the court that the intrusion by the students was a ploy to slow down the commencement of the institution's semester examination planned to start on April 3.
