UI shuts down , as Pastor Adeboye of RCCG hosts Holy Ghost service
Hundreds of worshippers from outside and within Oyo State trooped to the University of Ibadan for a special Holy Ghost Service organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Wednesday evening .
Although the forum was a special service for students on all campuses in the state, it was attended by residents and non-residents of the state.
Source reports that the University of Ibadan was chosen as the venue to start off the programme, after which it would be moved to other tertiary institutions across the country.
Source also reports that the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had earlier paid a courtesy call on the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka.
Source again reports that the service, that was scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m., had already started receiving a massive crowd as early as 1:00 p.m.
A special taxi initiative tagged, “Adeboye,” was also in place to transport people to the venue of the event.
Source further reports that there was a great presence of security operatives, with many police officers and NSCDC sighted keeping vigil at strategic locations on the campus.
Some vendors also made brisk business selling food, drinks and books.
