Mystery fire Accident in Delta left 25 homeless.

A mid-day fire yesterday razed a building in Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, destroying property worth millions of naira.

The affected building located opposite Omode Primary School was said to have gone up in flames after it was allegedly ignited by a faulty electrical appliance in one of the apartments.

Although no life was lost, no fewer than 25 persons were rendered homeless as a result of the unfortunate incident.

Community sources said a fashion designer and members of her household who were trapped in their apartment escaped from the fire by the whiskers.

A bicycle spare parts shop, a generator mechanic store, a sewing institute and eleven rooms were among properties consumed by the inferno.

It was learned that it took fire fighters and sympathizers over three hours to put out the inferno and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.

Chairman of the Irri Community Development Committee, Mr. Goddy Igorigo described the incident as shocking and devastating.

He appealed to the government and public spirited individuals to come to the aid of the victims and restore hope
