APC group blams Audu for party’s losses at tribunal
A group within the APC named Justice Forum has acused the governorship candidate of the party, Prince Abubakar Audu for being behind the losses recorded by the party at the Election Petitions Tribunal.
In a communiqué issued at the weekend, the forum alleged the failure of the party to organize free and fair primary election as the main reason behind the gradual decimation of the party at the national and state assemblies.
They called on the National Working Committee of APC to order a probe into the activities which surrounded nomination of candidates prior to the 2015 general elections.
“As a forum that promotes fairness, equity and justice, we called the attention of the National Working Committee of our great party to the high-handedness orchestrated by Prince Abubakar Audu in connivance with the State Executive Committee of the party.
“Instead of organizing primaries to nominate credible candidates for the elections, figures were merely awarded in private residences to favoured candidates. Apart from losing at the tribunal, we want to sound a note of warning that we are at the risk of losing the next governorship election as many aggrieved aspirants who were denied the opportunity of going through free and fair primaries are now openly canvassing for our opponents.
“Anyone giving an impression that all is well with our party in the state is merely showing insincerity. As far as we are concerned, Audu has destroyed the party in Kogi State.
