19years old Nigerian boy held for shoplifting.
The Hennur police have arrested a 19-year-old Nigerian youth on the charge of shoplifting at Horamavu. The suspect , Joshua Biridee, was arrested based on CCTV camera footage from a supermarket.
According to the police, Biridee had come to India on a business visa. He lived in Delhi, Mumbai and a few other places before coming to Bengaluru. He claimed to have come down to Bengaluru a couple of months ago. He lives with a friend near Hennur.
A couple of days ago, employees at Magic Super Market, located near Horamavu railway track, lodged a complaint about their shop been looted.
They claimed that around Rs. 75,000 and a mobile phone were missing. The cash box, a computer and glass shelves in the supermarket were damaged. The police went to the spot and found that the culprit had gained entry into the shop through a door on the terrace.
“We examined the CCTV footage and found a youth trying to break the cash box and shelves. He appeared to be a foreign national,” sources in the police said. After questioning people in the locality, police picked up the suspect.
